LG GD510 Pop review: Mobile pop culture

It looks like LG have been playing their own version of will it blend. There's no need to tell you they're not playing for fun - they're rather trying to squeeze some more cash off a couple of hot-selling handsets. So, here's the deal. Get your blender, throw in an LG Arena and a Cookie and set the speed to "budget". And there you have it - an LG GD510 Pop - ready to be served to the happy masses. The "pop" LG are going for is definitely "popular", as opposed to the "popstar stuff" some of you may have hoped for. You can go ahead and call it the new Cookie, or the low-cost Arena, but the LG Pop is quite obviously keen to have its own purpose and personality. The optional battery cover fitting a solar panel and the all-roundeco-friendliness are one way for it to stand on its own two feet as a phone.

What It Really Is: Dreamworks creates yet another funny, clever, and highly enjoyable animated feature that's perfect for kids and fun for adults. Taking its cue from the golden era of monster films, and using well-suited voice talent (Reese Witherspoon as the recently turned monster Ginormica, Hugh Laurie as a cockroach mad scientist, Stephen Colbert as the president...), we were thoroughly entertained and impressed by how far Dreamworks has come.

Does Blu-Ray Make a Difference? Yes! Visually, this is an explosion of color and pristine clarity, feeling more like a genuine action flick than a CGI marvel. Shot in 3D, luckily they present it in regular HD so we...

BlackBerry Thunder: Could RIM be striking gold?

Many phone buyers may have their eyes on the WWDC 2008 today, but before they go out and buy the 3G iPhone they should take a look at the BlackBerry Thunder live photo above as RIM could be striking gold with this phone.

This is a real live shot of the forthcoming BlackBerry Thunder touchscreen phone from research In Motion and it could put a halt on some buyer’s 3G iPhone dreams today. While we do not have much information to go on, it does look good and the photo above shows you the phone will be loaded with buttons.

From the photo you can see the buttons will include a play / pause, lock, volume, dual convenience keys, menu, back, end and send. The BlackBerry Thunder will be heading to Verizon Wireless and RIM has a massive following of both business and personal users, can this phone take some of the iPhone market share.
